SharePoint Bulk Zip & Unzip enables SharePoint end-users to Zip and Unzip documents on a large scale in the SharePoint Library. This is a simple and easy way to handle large amount of documents to load into SharePoint document library or to send out from it. The convenience is usual as we have come to expect from zip/unzip operations. A whole bunch of documents could be zipped up and sent conveniently; through an email for example. With SharePoint Bulk Zip & Unzip users also can import a ZIP archive and automatically unpack contents into document library and retain the folder structure. This is an included function in the SharePoint Classifier product from the same company. That tool has a simple interface that lets you do bulk upload, check in, edit, tag, approve, copy and move documents directly in SharePoint. The zip archive itself could be deleted to retrieve the space after unpacking.

Full set of documents could be downloaded to users as a unit. End users can package multiple documents and folders and download it. As an added benefit this tool will include all versions of the document in the zip file archive. When writing back documents you have the option to either overwrite the already existing versions or the folders containing them. SharePoint alerts can be set up. This tool is compatible with bulk properties editor. The developers have quite a few tools that help working with SharePoint solution. This is a tool that provides you limited functionality but is very useful when handling many documents.
